(1) What will the children cover?
Over the content workshops, students will explore:
• Voice; projection, pace and clarity
• Pausing with power
• Movement on stage
• Developing a strong stage presence from correct posture
• Developing engaging content through story-telling
• Audience interaction & engagement
(2) Why Public Speaking?
Public Speaking is an important skill to develop. In whatever direction their life will take them, public speaking skills will be useful in engaging with people effectively.
(3) Does my child need to also book onto anything else?
Nope! This is a standalone course. No prior knowledge is needed.
(4) What's different about this Little Speakers Course?
We are passionate about developing a love of learning and instilling important skills in children from a young age so they can become the best versions of themselves. Nothing like these courses exist anywhere else! This particular course has a focus on delivering a keynote speech.
(5) My child attended the previous Little Speakers Courses, is this a repeat?
No, this is a new course and is different from previous courses but there may be some overlap with activities.
(6) Why is it for such a big age range?
This is a skills based course. Age makes no difference. We all have the ability to build and learn from one another and develop our skills even further. Our Little Speakers Club has always been a mixed age range and it works beautifully!
(7) My child is nearly 5 / is age 4, can they join?
It is at the parents discretion if they feel their child is ready to join the courses. When children are younger there can be a big difference between the developmental maturity of one child from another. Therefore, it is difficult to give an absolute answer. Some young children are not yet ready to join a dynamic and interactive session - which is fine. Others require familiarity over a number of weeks before they fully open up and participate
(8) What does the final delivery event involve?
The final event will take place on Saturday 20th July 2019.
Please ensure your child is available to attend on this day.
During this event, your child will present their speech to a large audience of families, professionals and specialists!
(9) Do I need to stay with my child?
The sessions are drop-off but you will be expected to accompany your child at the events.
(10) How many children will be in the course?
We will only be taking a small number of students to ensure the group is intimate enough for students to receive individual support. This course is only running due to demand - these places will get snapped up really quickly!
(11) How much does the course cost?
This course costs a total of £150
This includes the 5 week course + the final event.
